Eagle Compact Ltd’s Electric Golf Caddy Case Study
This powered golf caddy is the most compact in the world. You can fit several in a standard car boot! The client needed his product to be on the market as soon as possible. This was the main driver of the project. The main improvement over their existing design was the addition of a plastic enclosure to cover the mechanical parts, which made for a much more professional looking product.
As well as being practical, it kept out dirt and water from the motor area. This product has since gone on to sell very well and be very popular with the golfing community in Australia. This work was really an example of where understanding what is required to meet commercial aims of a company is crucial.
We were asked to take into account the commercial aims and all other constraints and to produce a design that worked in the given time frame, which was very short (8 weeks). We achieved this and delivered what the client was looking for.
